Battlefield 3: DICE Planning For A Large Amount Of DLC's

Today Battlefield 3's Lead Designer and DICE Creative Director Lars Gustavsson stated in a recent interview by MVC, that the DICE studio "completely restructured" around the concept of DLC for their games, also he added that there is a "massive plan in place" for Battlefield 3 post-release content. This is really nice since we want Battlefield 3 to last us as long as it can for a new better Battlefield to take its place.

He also added, "We've completely restructured our studio around it. Nowadays, we have operations teams who looks at the title when it starts getting closer to launch (or long before) with potential downlodable content and so on, to really have a plan. Otherwise you're quite likely to start slipping. If you're focusing just before release on what you're going to ship post-launch, then I think you have problems." This is a really great statement and awesome way DICE is looking to spice the game up after launch.

As of right know the only DLC DICE has already released as pre-order incentives is the Physical Warfare Pack and Back To Karkand Maps. Im sure soon after Battlefield 3's release there will be another DLC announced. And since they are going to be fully revolved around DLC's, we might see a number more than the Call of Duty series which usually does quite a few. We will just have to wait a couple months until Battlefield 3 has been out for awhile and see what the bring us.
