Battlefield 3 Console Rent-a-Server Layout and Options

Yesterday, PS3 users got a new patch--way before all other platforms--and one of the main features of the new patch is Rent-a-Server. Where you can pay daily, monthly, or quad-yearly for a server of your own.

These servers surprisingly have a lot of capably as you can see by this video. You can essentially do everything that people can do on PC servers, but for a price. We have lined up the prices for both Australia and the United States below:

United States:
  • 1 day – $1.49 USD
  • 7 days – $6.99 USD
  • 30 days – $24.99 USD
  • 90 days – $64.99 USD
Australia:
  • 1 day – $2.45 AUD
  • 7 days – $11.95 AUD
  • 30 days – $39.85 AUD
  • 90 days – $88.95 AUD

That will defiantly burn a whole in you pocket! But it is worth it if you want to kick a**holes who are camping in a corner, or using the USAS.

Additionally, DICE will be releasing 3 DLC's of shortcuts including:

  • Kit Shortcut Bundle:
  •  Immediately unlocks all items unique to the four playable classes
  • Vehicle Shortcut Bundle:
  •  Immediately unlocks all items for all vehicles
  • The Ultimate Bundle:
  •  Immediately unlocks all items from all other available shortcut packs
Looks like just another money sucker like they did in BC2. I already have everything unlocked, so I'm good. Well, I wouldn't buy it even if I didn't have everything unlocked.

Here is a laugh if you want it (Gets me excited for the release of the patch on XBL):

New Battlefield 3 DLC Expansions announced

DICE has just announced three new DLC's that will start releasing this summer. Coming, of course, so Playstation 3 first.

The first expansion, coming this June to Playstation first, is called Close Quarters. It focuses on tight infantry battles on smaller maps and will include 10 additional weapons. This DLC sounds more like a CoD fan advert than a DLC for real Battlefield fans, which have already been complaining about the small map sizes.

The next expansion announced--with no release date announced--will be named Armored Kill. Its all about the vehicles and will include the largest multiplayer map that DICE has ever made. Featuring new drivable tanks, ATVs, mobile artillery and more. It will be interesting if this one leads up to its nice description.

And the last expansion announced is called End Game. But DICE is all hush about this expansion, which their defiantly good at doing. This will be here by winter of 2012.

Pricing for all of these details will most likely be $15.00 or 1200 MS Points, but it's not confirmed.
