Battlefield 3 on PSVita

Have you been dying to seen Battlefield 3 on a mobile device? Well here is you first look. A YouTube user named Homer49 posted a video of him playing Battlefield 3 Co-op on his PSVita. Even though this video is all in Spanish, we can still see what Battlefield 3 would look like on a Mobile device. I honestly think it looks awesome.

But sadly, this isn't exactly the PSVita version of the game. Its playing on the PS3, and then remotely being played as a sort of interactive monitor on the PSVita. But there have been rumors that Battlefield 3 will surface on the PSVita after the release in the US.

This video basically shows us how the PSVita platform would be a great addition for Battlefield and FPS games in general. The game just plays so smoothly and nice. Tell us what you think about the PSVita being a new addition to platforms in the FPS genre in the comments below.

Battlefield 3 Core Gameplay Designer Leaving BF3

Today, the Battlefield 3 Core Gameplay Designer, Alan Kertz aka 'Demize99' tweeted that he will no longer be part of the Battlefield 3 team. But he adds, "And no, I'm not leaving DICE. Just departing from the team that's still diligently working on BF3" to make sure no one gets confused that he is leaving DICE.
Alan Kertz was the guy behind most of the gun and balancing tweaking for Battlefield 3's multiplayer. He defiantly was a big part of the team. The job of Gameplay Designer will still be in the "capable hands" of the two other Gameplay Designers Gustav Halling and Tim Kjell. They have already had years of experience in this position, so there should be no problem in them executing the job just as Alan did.

But one thing still remains mysterious. Will he be working on the long awaited Mirrors Edge? Maybe tweaking it for a announcement? Or will be be working on the next Battlefield game, such as Battlefield:2143 or Bad Company 3? We have asked him this question, hoping for an answer. If we get any answer we will be sure to relay the news back to this site.

DICE to "Intensify" Anti-cheating Measures

Today DICE posted on their Blog about them starting to tighten their anti-cheat measures to stop cheat specifically on PC. There has been loads of hackers ruining the game and DICE really wants to stop the problem.

According to DICE, they have banned "hundred confirmed cheaters", and now plan to ban everyone who tries to hack the game. DICE has recommended people to report hackers via their Battlelog profiles. If the Battlefield community takes action, this could be a successful campaign to wipe hackers from the game.

Battlefield 3 Spectator and BattleRecorder Mod [VIDEO]

As most of you all know, Battlefield 3 was released a little too early for DICE to finish all the feature the game was supposed to offer. For example, they forgot private servers on consoles, saying they would be implemented in later. But other than that, people also wanted a spectator mode and BattleRecorder for looking back at all their gameplay without a PC recorder or for consoles a HD PVR.

But somehow, someone managed to find a way to get a spectator mode on PC. If you read the description the uploader states, "This is not a trick or a glitch, this is real Spectator Mode." he also vaguely told us how he did it saying, "messing around with game files, basically decrypted data files and modified some scripts by GUI programming and encrypted back." But this is not a glitch or hack that can be done anymore. Since he also said that, "Video was taken in 11/23/2011 Patched in 12/6/2011" and also followed that up by saying, "maybe in the future I'll fix it, who knows :)".

This shows us that spectator mode is defiantly possible, maybe we might see it very soon, possible in the next big update. Spectator mode will probably also come with some type of BattleRecorder since he also said that there was some type of "demo.recorder" but it resulted in in-game black screen.

Hold your fingers tight, because possibly, if some random guy can just mess around with some game files and get a BattleRecorder/Spectator mode, that DICE probably has a BattleRecorder/Spectator mode ready for release. Tell us what you think about this in the comments below and have a nice day!

What Really Went Wrong With Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 was arguably the most anticipated First person shooter of 201. So why is there suddenly Battlefield players moving over to MW3 or taking a break from Battlefield because of their experiences with Battlefield 3? Today that's what we will be looking at; what went wrong with Battlefield 3.

First we will be looking at how EA went wrong with advertising the game to beat Call of Duty in sales. Also why CoD is overall preferred more than Battlefield.

Even though DICE has been striving for a new and fresh multiplayer every game were as CoD has been, except for different weapons and loadout options, the same game since 2007 with CoD:4. Most people prefer Call of Duty over Battlefield because the fact that you can get into a match quick, play a couple of games really quick without requiring a friend to help out with winning. Where with Battlefield, to have the best experience you have to have friends to play with, also with longer and more tedious matches. And just that difference between games will steer people away from one or the other, mostly with people steering towards the Call of Duty; easier, not very hard to pick-up on gameplay.

Another issue that changed the fate of Battlefield 3 was the release date. EA had been moving the release of the game around quite a bit, just to compete with the MW3 release date which they knew was going to take place in November. This was a big mistake and really changed how the game would eventually turn out. Dates should never be changed just to compete with a game that they knew they would never beat in sales. This in the end made feedback from the beta hard to use to fix the game before the release of the game. What EA should have done is delayed the game until at least mid-December of 2011 so that DICE could have had a good 2 months to tweak the game from beta feedback. But instead, DICE got about a week after the end of the beta to tweak the game before the game went to the printing press. This ended up being the nail in the coffin for the games sales and gameplay in the end. So instead of the developer ruining the game, the publisher did.

But the biggest problem with Battlefield 3 in my opinion wasn't any of these other things I've mentioned, but instead, it was DICE themselves. DICE was not clear enough when relaying info to the community. They lost numbers of sales just because they didn't properly state that the beta after all, was a great example of a beta. Also when patching and fixing problems from the beta and from the final game. Probably one of the most complained about problem in the Battlefield 3 Beta was the Tactical flashlight. Yet, DICE did not fix the brightness of it after a overload of feedback about it. And still to this day, the tactical flashlight is not fixed on consoles. And that brings me to my last point; DICE favoring PC. In today's gaming world, the PC rules in graphics because of its unlimited functionality, and because of consoles lacking power. But all game developers support their games equally on all platforms--but not DICE! They have now released a number of patches on PC without releasing them on console, and also not to mention the fact that PC multiplayer maps are larger and have more conquest flags, players, ect. DICE must not understand that PC players make-up less than one third of all their players. Shouldn't they at least be supporting the platform with most players the most?

DICE and their decisions just don't make much sense to me, and with all of these problems stated above, you should agree with me. With better marketing, better response to feedback, and knowing who they were selling the game to; DICE could have made a much better game.
